Nikon CL-L2 Soft Case Recall

Nikon has recalled early versions of CL-L2 case as it was discovered that the plastic boot on the bottom of the case could catastrophically fail.  The Nikon 200-400mm f4 VR lens is shipped in this case. The case is sold separately for 400mm, 500mm, and 600mm lens use.

Apparently the plastic boot becomes very brittle and can fail as shown above.
