About Us

Hickingbotham Photography (a.k.a. BigLens) is run by Deven Hickingbotham who has loved making pictures since he was in the 8th grade. While photographing his own children's sporting events he was frequently asked to take pictures of other children. One thing led to another and the end result is the site you see today. 

Deven is an award winning photographer who has had his work published in national magazines and newspapers. He has a wide range of photography interests, but concentrates on sports photography. Deven has attended the highly acclaimed Sports Photography Workshop in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and had his work reviewed by nationally recognized photographers including Dave Black and Joey Terrill.

Why BigLens?

As you can see from the title at the top of the page, the official name of this site is Hickingbotham Photography. Since this name is not particularly easy to remember or spell, we looked for a web address that would be better on both counts. After a bit of brainstorming we came up with an alternative: www.BigLens.com. If you ever see us at an event, then you'll know why BigLens makes sense.
